The SJHGFS is now a well established part of our Parish outreach activities with over fifty individuals playing in one or more of our fixtures during our 2009 season. We welcome male and female players of all ages, golfing experience and ability. With our wide and inclusive membership, our society handicaps currently range from 5 to 36. Players of all standards are most welcome with fellowship, outreach and fun being our main aims although, needless to say, its also nice to play and score well occasionally!

The season for 2009 is complete, with Mark Fitzsimmons receiving the award for overall season winner at our Annual Awards Dinner in October. We were pleased to welcome Mark Pinney from Logos Golf Ministries as our speaker.

Fixtures for 2010 are detailed below, and on the church calendar. This year we've got two sets of fixtures: the eight matches that make up the Championship Tour, plus three special events spread through the year. As in previous years, “Championship” fixtures are all scheduled for Saturdays, utilising the Stableford scoring system.

New for 2010!  The Maureen Gardner Cup: This is a Ryder Cup style tournament with the Parkinsons Disease Golf Society (PGS), to be held on September 11th, a week before the actual Ryder Cup. There are 12 qualifying places, and the final qualifying round is on 14th August at Aldersley Green. Please download the event flyer and visit the PGS website.
