For Teachers

Welcome to the schools’ resource for St John’s Church. If you are a teacher, we would love to hear how we can support you in your role and help your pupils to discover more about Christianity.

If you are from a High School, please get in touch with Nathan. If you are from a Primary School, please get in touch with Teresa.

To find out more about arranging a visit and the type of sessions that we can run for you, please download our comprehensive booklet 'St John’s Church, A Resource for Learning Outside the Classroom'.

For some of the schools in our parish we run "Pray, Bake, Read" teams.

To find out how this could work for your school, please click here to download a brochure.

As part of our schools work and with the support of the national charity Walk Through the Bible we can deliver Old Testament lessons for your upper KS2 pupils.

Please download this leaflet for more information.

If you are a Year 6 teacher, click here to find out more about our “It’s Your Move” transition to High School sessions that Teresa and Phil can run for you (Phil Highton is Chaplain at Hartford Church of England High School).

For more information about It's Your Move, please download this leaflet.

All our ministry team work with local schools, and for details of the whole team please visit our Who's Who page.

Specifically though, our dedicated youth and schools team are Nathan Phillingham, Youth and Families Minister, and Teresa Nixon, our Schools Outreach Worker. In addition, Phil Highton works at Hartford Church of England High School as Chaplain.

Alternatively, please contact any of the team via the Church Office.
