Churchwardens are elected annually. They are the senior lay leaders within the church. The title Churchwarden Emeritus is purely honorary and usually given to former wardens following long service.

Lay Readers assist the clergy in the pastoral ministry of the parish in a variety of ways, but particularly in Sunday worship.
